"In my paintings, I want to portray a glimpse rather than the whole story. This allows the viewer to participate with the painting by completing the vignette any way he or she feels to. As one completes the painting in the minds eye, each piece will hopefully arouse nostalgic memories of grandpa's time on the farm, the smell of the ranch growing up, or even a self portrait."

"I especially enjoy capturing the weathered look of old leather and rusty spurs. I see American history in these elements of cowboy life and hopefully in doing my part to preserve this piece of history."

Born in Tempe, Arizona, and graduating from Arizona State University with an architectural degree cum laude, Nelson Boren currently hails from Sandpoint, Idaho.
